Figuring this out was such a pain in the ass and there arent any good utorrent/MAC guides online. Screw you uTorrent. Whatever. I'll help the rest of you who are also frustrated with this.
What am I talking about? This is you: You have a plex server running on a Mac and you use uTorrent to download movies and TV shows. All your downloaded content goes to one folder and it looks a mess on Plex (cover art, synopses etc all screwed up). You want movies and TV shows to be organized correctly, hence you need to have uTorrent automatically put the files in different folders (movies in movies, tv shows in tv shows).
Backstory: Plex is designed to scan your download media folders (which you specify), and it does a wonderful job of adding lovely cover art and synopses from the internet, BUT if you download TV shows and movies into the same folder (which is the default in utorrent) movies and TV Shows will be confused by plex (you may have the Spider-Man movie but plex thinks its the Spider-Man animated TV show).
The goal here is to have uTorrent download movies and keep them in the default download folder, but for TV Shows they will be automatically move to a TV Shows folder which is separately scanned by Plex.
Next setup an RSS feed of all the TV Shows you want to download:
And that's it. The smart feed will pull the updated shows from the RSS Feed you created and when a show matches the smart feed it will auto download and save the files in the location you chose. Because you told uTorrent NOT to move files that are not in the default download directory (confusing I know) the file will stay there when complete. All you gotta do it tell plex to search for TV Shows in your TV Shows folder and to search for movies in your movies folder.
If you need to add more shows go back to showRSS and add shows to your feed. You don't need to change the link in uTorrent, it stays the same.
Hope this helps some people. Leave a comment if you need more help.
